i like her bcuz a lot of fats think they r fashionable just bcuz they are able to get their ‘Faded Glory’ jeans and geometric-print kimono tops over their big frames. she would be fashionable even if she was a skinnie!

okay let’s say average U.S. women are size= 14
she is definitely at least a U.S. size 20
I know this bcuz she is wearing a dress from the new ASOS plus-sized line (i read her blog- asos sent it for free 2 post about cause she is the BBA queen and all BBAs look up to her)
also i am a size 14, and maybe I am not as self-aware as i thought- but she looks bigger than me! thank god!!!! jk

In ur medical opinion, do u think a size 14 fat who eats ice cream is healthy or less healthy than a size 2 addie addict who chain-smokes?? (These are a few of alt’s favorite things)
In my medical opinion, stimulant abuse puts more of a strain on one’s <3 than fat
I am a size 14, I love the addies, love the cigs, not trying to get all PRO FAT. just wondering what the other cardialtogists think

@Elle, yo, that analysis demands a look into the meaning of the word “fat” – is it comparative or is there a strict BMI or something beyond which one is considered “fat”?
I think we create culturally the meaning of the word “fat” so actually we determine what is “healthy and/or acceptable.” meaning if 14 is average then yeah, it definitely could be healthy or acceptable to be a size 14 alt.
that being said, you’re right in that average doesn’t necessarily mean acceptable. if the average person in the USA is obese (and it seems like we’re getting there, and btw “obese” IS a medical condition unlike “fat”) that doesn’t mean that it’s OK for everyone to be obese.
I don’t think the alt in the photos above is ‘obese.’ she’s perhaps above average weight as altruism said. but i think it’s fine to be above average, i.e. that’s “acceptable” as long as she doesn’t have health issues or whatever

@elliott, I see your point, I supposed what is considered “fat” could be a cultural thing. I used to live in Canada and to me (and basically any doctor) this woman is overweight, but here in America she’s considered normal, since the average woman is probably around this weight.
And I didn’t mean that society should ridicule fat people into losing weight, but we shouldn’t send out the message that it’s perfectly okay to have 60 pounds of excess fat hanging off your body, either. Because it’s not. Humans did not evolve to weigh 300 pounds, and even if she doesn’t have any medical problems now, she will when she gets older. And I mean even now I can look at her knees and tell they’re under a lot of stress. But whatevs. It’s her life, right?

Did too many sports in high schoo and I go running 4 days a week. My legs are really muscular so ill never be able to fit some of the standards on here. I had an eating disorder until I got really sick, now I am more comfy with my body and I look better because I have much more confidence. I respect people who are comfortable with themselves, it isn’t easy. So fuck you, alts come in all sizes. I’m a 5′8 female alt and I wear an 8

it seems like a chubby girl can still meet an aesthetic alt standard but a chubby guy is usually considered goofy and not widely fuckable (unless ha has a chubby gut and the rest of him is skinny).
