Some blogger bro vlogs about chillwave.
Published on Tuesday 2/9/2010 @ 9:28 AM by the ALT REPORT Robot
In an effort to share good music, solid opinions, and take down pitchfork media dot org, some bro began to vlog about relevant alternative music. The vlog bro has branded himself as ‘the internet’s busiest music nerd.’
In the selected clips from his youtube channel, he reviews several different chill wave tracks and albums.
Washed Out – Feel It All Around Vlog Review
Neon Indian – Psychic Chasms vlog album review
Toro Y Moi- “Blessa” Track Vlog Review
What was ur fave mise en scène in his vlogs?
Is Anthony Fantano the new Pitchfork album review?
Do u enjoy reading reviews, or watching some1 vlog them?
Who will go down in history as the #1 chill wave artist of all time?
Do u enjoy hearing/reading people talk about what something sounds like, or would u rather just ’stream that shit’ and make your own decisions?

In the Neon Indian video, he says “Adam Palomo.” It is actually “Alan”.

@Anthony F., I have watched many of your vids Anthony, and the content is great but there’s always been something that seemed off… I think you should do your reviews sitting at a desk or table. Try it! it could be good.

he’s obnoxious.
why would i watch a stranger talk about songs i’ve already heard?
what can he do besides maybe to influence how i feel about a familiar song?
why wouldn’t i want to keep my feelings about a song personal?

So, chillwave music=lo-fi indie pop that contains Nintendo-sounding keyboard parts? Hitting late 80’s/early 90’s nostalgia notes, that’s cool. Can’t wait for a popular chillwave song to reference those Nickolodeon shows we all dug back then.

@John, also thought that didn’t sound very clever. i think chillwave is a natural evolution of the compressor duck popularized by the bngrz+daft punk sampling+shoegaze sound landscapes and tempo. not said it doesn’t have anything to do with nostalgia, but i don’t see how it relates to 8-bit music or stuff like that.

***immediately runs to his keyboards and synthesizers to produce nintendo sounding keyboard parts with references to old Nickelodeon shows***

This is seems unnecessarily bitchy, even for HRO. I’m not sure what’s so annoying/offensive about a dude sharing his thoughts about the records he receives. The Needle Drop as a target of satire seems small enough to make HRO look like kind of an asshole.
If you wanted to take on someone bigger in the blogging world, then there are plenty of other irritating folks out there that probably deserve to be taken down a peg. Not Anthony Fantano, though. Unless, of course, you’re spooked that Fantano’s sincerity stands in stark opposition to HRO’s entire enterprise.

this bro looks like he was the captain of the wrestling in high school that bought an animal collective album in college and now feels his face/style and opinions are a blogwave sensation. the close up torso views will maybe land an am appy sponsorship deal to promote an independent track critic.
take your bad opinions to the top, bro.

I admire their endless support, and endless believing .
If since young age they receive good influence by person they admire, they would have became great people with great vision about work and determination. Even if this person only an entertainer.
I think it’s because they believe that hardwork will be payed off. And this belief come from their Idol, Rain. How many entertainers can cast this strong belief in our world today?
