Terry Richardson has been branded as an ‘alt photographer’ who was often associated with a ‘gritty, raw’ aesthetic. I am not sure if he is ‘alt.’ Seems to have ‘turned the mainstream corner’ with Vice Magazine. Most of the memes he produces have to do with mainstream stuff / ppl. Seems good for his career to get ‘jersey shore hits’, and good for websites since he produced enough photos to generate a ‘photo gallery.’

It seems like all of those bros are ‘getting fat’ now that they are famous + don’t work out an more. Worried that their muscle man boobs are turning into moobs of flab.

Wish I could be a critically acclaimed photograph, but my parents won’t even buy me a DSLR. Stuck with the point and shoot I got as a high school graduation present. Feel like a ‘fucking loser’ when I hold my camera up 2 get pix at concerts, but feel more authentic

Wish I could have been on Jersey Shore, and gone macrofamous.
Wish I could be a photographer for high end brands and magazines.
Wish I had invested in guido memes + guido humor in 2k5.
Hope that a television network does a better job of exploring more angry subcultures, like the MassHole or maybe ‘Mexicans.’

@donkeykong, It depends on the intentions/the subjectivity of how one views a particular photograph/pic. If the critics and creators decide a certain work is not art, it is simply a document and material. However, most successful works of photographic art include a strong emphasis on material/medium and the context to which the artist is documenting. In addition to socioenvironmental insprirations, artists may also simply intend to document form, color, and tonality. This should clear it up.

I wish I had those ‘pecs’/'hairless chest’
I wish I had the balls to shave my armpit’s hair.
I wish I had black curly hair so I could shave the sides and GEL the top, so its rlly pionty and shiny.

@John Hayda, I advanced quickly in photoeducation and was a TA for a college profess while I was still in high school (felt badass). But once I moved to my quaint auth alt city for college, the art authorites repeatedly rejected me for my work lacking political inspiration/not relv. In class, I always guessed the songs students were thinking about when they took a particular photo. I was always right and the professz h8d me more and classmates got called out. Switched 2 psych 2 still b altwannabefag, but feel like I would end up helping others. H8n others now, but makn $ off of 5-7 yearold photos due 2 chillwave. Just got luckie last summer. This won’t last through 2k10. Don’t even own a dslr. Feel more pretentious that way. Not doin skoo again. Will start workn on that colossal/monumental piece I’ve been planning as soon as I can afford the proper drugz/frogz/meow for it. Until then, I’ll just have 2 bitch @how the system failed me & how I nvr evr did nething wrong. This story is proof of that. Sick of bng white. Mom shouldve eatn more carrots when she was a fat preggo. She shouldve signed me up 4 lil league, not fotog. Can’t look @sunlight. Wastd knowledge of film. Poorme only got laid by drunk art school girls at nite. Many of them thought they thought deep thoughts. That makes high-maintenance relaishes. Can’t grow old w them and drink red wine in the morn. h8 redwine. Ppl I work w/’help’ n my new psychjob don’t ‘get’ art. They r angry @art 4 leavn them/poorppl out. Defresst @art 4 all of this.
