Jay-Z apparently sampled Justice’s hit blog house anthem “D.A.N.C.E.” in his hit song “On To The Next One.” Wonder if Justice is still going to be alternatively relevant in 2k10, or if they will just start to produce mainstream rap hip hop hits.
Video of the ’sampling’ process [via 'under the spot lights']:
Do u think ’sampling’ is authentic when rappers do it?
Is ’sampling’ better when indie/alt/ternative/chillwave artists utilize it?
Will Justice make more money by producing a 3 second sample, or by writing a full album?

Sampling’s what rappers do though.
Unless they’re those fuckin’ fake rappers that think they can do synths and autotune.
I fuckin’ enjoyed it.

Never though Jay-Z was authentic. He definitely tries too hard to be a trend setter when Kanye already sampled electro french bangers (via daft punk), Nastradamus already proclaimed hip-hop dead (via prophetic revelation of auto-tun-apocalypse) and KRS already made an album called Blue Print.
But to give credit where credit is due, he was way ahead of the curve with that sped up chipmunk vox sample trend (via hard knock life etc…), the funk beats from American Gangster were hot and bonus irony points for pouring black paint on the blinged out Damien Hisrt skull.
I’ll still whip your ass, you 36th in the karate class you tae bo ho! –naS

Justice sampled Soulwax’s drums & used them “all over the album” after they got them for a remix. They talked about it in Soulwax’s documentary about how “ugly people” can still “make good music”. Just saying.

@aertime, then there probably is no “real music” at all. before “sampling” it was called being “inspired.”

i think rappers are trying be as cool as alternative people so jay z was probably trying to take some of Justices cool to possibly add more ‘cool’ to his dieing style/brand

@hey, i agree @artfggt doesnt know what the hell he’s talking about. if jayz was trying to be as cool as alternative people, why the fuck is jayz’s name on an alternative blog when the song is months old and everyone knew swizz sampled justice a LONG TIME AGO
